Sutton Place, NYC

apartment renovation & furnishing

Sutton Place was a full-scale and full-service design project for a repeat New York City client. After purchasing an apartment sight unseen, the client engaged City to Suburb Interiors (formerly JMW Interiors) for complete management and design of their new space. Julia stepped in and took over from day one: measuring the new space and furniture, coordinating transition of existing furniture into the new home (including deciding which pieces to keep and which to donate), managing movers, renovating and designing every room in the new apartment including a new fireplace, motorized window treatments, luxurious wallcoverings, carpet, and crown molding. Julia even handled the unpacking and organizing so that when the owners arrived, they could “walk in, hang up their coats, and have a cocktail” with absolutely no stress. Julia’s clients trusted her so much with their renovations they only met with her twice; all other communication was via email.

“We purchased a brand new condo in NYC in the form of a shell and based on our prior work with Julia we decided to retain JMW Interiors.  We sought an interior that would achieve a feel of casual elegance.  Julia delivered exactly what we were seeking on budget and on time.  Julia was creative and innovative and was even able to deliver a working fireplace in our NYC condo which is fantastic! Julia was always available by all means and kept us informed throughout the entire process.  We will definitely use JMW Interiors on our next project and highly recommend to others.”
